Systematic WHAT?

Ok... So I did take Campbell to the doctor... on the way there she started vometing in the car and because she is potty trained, I don't carry a bag with me anymore. So I had nothing! I mean NOTHING to help my child. It was a pickle I will never be in again and I have to say, very unlike me to be so unprepared... Anyway, I had to pull over the gas station and get some wipes, my husband grabbed some things from the house and met me at the doctor's office. When we got in the room, her fever was at 103! They brought us tylenol and motrin and told her to take them both. The doctor looked at her and said she has broken blood vessels in the roof of her mouth and they had formed blood pockets, she was developing a rash all over body and the vometing was due to the high fever and the fact that her throat was almost swollen shut. YES! True story I tell you. She had Systematic Strep. It was basically the strep throat infection but all over her system. The infection was so bad that no oral antibiotic could combat it so they had to give her a shot of straight penicillin in her leg. The next few nights were rough but last night, she finally slept through the night! Unbelievable! This mothering thing is NOT for faint of heart. Praise the Lord for the His Word and the Holy Spirit... and sister in laws! My sister in law Melody was down here for the week and she was an amaizing help to me and took care of Carson.
I expect this week to go much better! Camp is still going well despite the family situation we all face. God's grace is sufficient... Thanks for all your prayers.

O My!

Well, here we are in Camp 3... Yes, its been a while since I have posted but mercy... if you were here, you would understand why. I am speaking at High Point tomorrow morning and I just now finished the lecture. That coming off a night where I got home at 10:30 to find my daughter running fever. So, we had a little girl sleeping in our bed all night with fever. Still can't get it to break. Good thing I managed to get in my quiet time this morning... she started the day off by crying, telling me she hurts... got a doctor's appointment today but the soonest they could get us in is 1:30... So, I'm running back and forth to my house, checking my child with fever, writting the High Point lecture, the red wagon battery died with 100 kids on it before second acitivty, the Hodge Podge roll call book was missing for 3 acitivity... 2 homesick campers, a sunken canoe in the bottom of big lake and then there is Carson...
The calm in the hectic... praise God for my miracle baby...
So... what have you been up to?

The Circus of Life!

Staff Training week was awesome. There is a great staff this year. Of course, like always, they were sleepy by the end of the week but couldn't wait for 1st activity to start. What a great group. We are anticipating one of the best summers ever.
I am still learning to juggle motherhood and 24 hr camp. It is a balance between being a good mom and still handleing my responsibilites. I guess this is where every mom finds themselves at one time or another. We have such a drive to be the best at everything we put our hands too and most of the time, that is several things all at once. Motherhood, once again, not for the faint of heart.
So to all the mothers out there living as a star of the juggleing act of this circus we call life... you are not alone. We are all in this together trying to figure out how to make everyone one around us a success.
Get a pedicure this week... We all deserve it!
