Investing for the Harvest

Well, once again my busy life has gotten the best of my time and I have let my blog lapse. Which I do not like! I apologize. Let's catch up: Since we last visited, we have been on a 6 state family vacation! It is true! Our first stop was Monroe, LA to the Duck Commander Building. It was really cool seeing it and being there. We are big fans and it was a really fun stop!

The next place we headed was Mobile, Alabama to see the USS Alabama. It was such a cool day! Our kids loved it and so did Mike. Of course! It was ship and planes! Also, the day we were there, the Army was there doing practice saves off the side of the ship. How cool is that? Anyway, our 6 year daughter snapped this picture of us and I think she did a great job!

Then our travels led us Destin, Florida! Mike mother gave us a condo on the beach and it was amazing! I have to say, I LOVE the beach! Love it! It is so beautiful and I just can't get enough of the sound of the waves and the sand between my toes. Something about it...

This kids did such a great job playing in the sand and it was me or Mike who had to bring them in after hours of being out there. The weather was amazing and we loved every single minute of it!

While we were in Destin, we did some really fun things with our kids. The first thing we did was a pirate cruise.

It was so cool! There were pirates who taught the kids how to become pirates. They had water gun fights, face painting, hula hoops and a lot more. The best part of the whole night was when they pulled a treasure chest from the ocean full of treasure that the kids got to take home. It was unbelievable. Mike and I really appreciated how hard they worked to entertain the kids. They were a very talented group for sure!

Another fun thing we did was a Dolphin Cruise. It was so much fun. The kids got the feed birds off the back of the boat, see lots of dolphins and even got the sit in the Captains Chair for a few minutes. It was a blast!

We got Campbell to snap a few more pics of us. Again, I think she did great!

Like all vacations, they must end at some point! When the vacation was over, school started!

This is the first day of Pre K for Carson and K5 for Campbell.

After the first we of school, there was a car accident on our road and we landed a helicopter in our backyard! It was amazing! Thankfully, the young man did not need to be transported in it but it was still really fun to see!

After the 2nd week of school was over, we loaded up our kids and our niece and nephew and headed out on a camping trip. It was such a fun weekend! We had friends that camp up and joined us and we through a surprise birthday party for one of my really good friends.

We climbed up some really huge rocks. Our kids did great! They were fearless. We were both so proud of them.

We ended the weekend eating at Lodge that is on the camp ground with some friends of ours. It was a good time with out kids and our niece and nephew.

I have also started the Christmas play and another writing project I'm currently involved in. As far as my lifestyle? I know you are wondering...
Even through all of that, I have help up beautifully. I have found a really great place where I am what I am and I'm ok with that. I am still a Vegan. I still eat a plant based diet. I exercise every single day. Yoga on Monday, Wednesdays and Friday and I run a mile on Tuesday and Thursdays. I was getting so frustrated with the scale and it was stealing my peace and my confidence. I haven't stepped on it in a month and I am liberated. If it moves, it moves. If it doesn't, it doesn't. At least I know that I am doing what I can to maintain a healthy lifestyle and set a good example for my kids. That is all I care about. I'm sure I will go through another tough time at some point because times cycle but as for right now, I am enjoying my life.

We have been busy over the last month. As you can see, we have been busy making lots of memories, having a lot of fun but more importantly, we have invested in our children. That is the big picture. One day, Mike and I will get a return on our investment.

Makes one stop and think huh? If we get a return on all our investments... family, children, health, relationships, etc... Hope we invest what we want to harvest.
